Life and Times at Cranberry Lake

This blog is about the life, wild and otherwise, in this immediate area of Northeast Pennsylvania. I hope you can join me and hopefully realize and value that common bond we share with all living things... from the insect, spider, to the birds and the bears... as well as that part of our spirit that wishes to be wild and free.

BUTTERFLY JOURNAL

            GUARD DUTY

      Illusion

I saw butterflies asleep
   with on eye open
...a double guard duty
Back to back

Light angelic beauties
settled in for the night
atop a flower

Reality                                     The wonder of mating butterflies.

BUTTERFLY JOURNAL

AUGUST 31, 1997

Princess Diana died
And my butterfly emerged
I released my butterfly
in my garden.

I released my sorrow
in my tears.

SEPTEMBER 1, 1997

At the Wyoming County Fair
they featured a butterfly garden
with all the plants to attract them.

They even had a "butterfly house."

If I was to ever collect butterflies,
I'd do it that way~~
Attract them... but let them stay wild,
    free, and alive.

SEPT. 3

We look at the unique miracle of metamorphous
and don't realize the personal miracles of healing.

Today I cut my finger... Badly.
As soon as it happened~within that split second,
My body began to respond.

I applied a bandage once I'd stemmed the bleeding.
So what do I have: a cut beneath a bandage...
And while that cocoon of a bandage is there,
It will heal... A metamorphous of sorts...
A Miracle, for Sure!
